SUMMER student positions in Hair Research
The laboratory regularly accepts undergraduate and
medical students for summer research projects. Students should
expect to work in the laboratory for a minimum of 2 months and
preferably
3 months thorugh the summer recess.
Typically,
students work on a small, self contained study, that is part
of a larger project. Each student is expected to conduct the
research project and produce a summary report of their data at
the end of the summer. Good results will form part of a peer
reviewed medical journal publication with the student acknowledged
as
a co-author.
There are some opportunities for summer students at the
University of British Columbia to apply for a stipend from
the Faculty of Medicine. See the UBC faculty of Medicine web
site
for details: http://www.med.ubc.ca/ To be considered for these
stipends early application to the
Hair Laboratory is encouraged in November or December. The final
deadline for application is in mid January - but early application
avoids panic!
It is also possible for students at other universities in Canada
to apply for a stipend from the Skin Research Training centre.
