Jerry Shapiro, MD has served as immediate past President of the North American Hair Research Society and Canadian Society for Investigational Dermatology. He is President of the Canadian Hair Research Foundation and presently is Clinical Professor in the Division of Dermatology at the University of British Columbia. He is Founder and Director of the UBC Hair Clinic. He has lectured internationally in Asia, Europe, South America as well as all over the United States. He is a regular speaker at the American Academy of Dermatology and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. He runs one of the busiest university-based hair clinics in the world.

Dr. Shapiro does both clinical and basic science hair research and is known internationally for all his scientific publications, book chapters and textbooks related to hair. He is regularly sought after to appear on television and radio. He is listed in the Canadian Who's Who as well as Best Doctors of America.
